While her husband Patrick Mahomes cheered from the sidelines as the Kansas City Chiefs faced off against the Los Angeles Rams in preseason, Brittany Mahomes was 500 miles away in Texas, kicking off her 31st birthday celebrations in style. The former soccer star and co-owner of the Kansas City Current swapped football fields for a night of country music, attending Ella Langley's concert at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth.

A Night of Country Music and Cowboy Hats

Brittany, who celebrates her 31st birthday on August 31, took a fun girls' trip to Texas to catch Langley's headlining Dandelion Tour show. The group enjoyed the concert from a VIP suite, and Brittany was all about sharing the fun on her Instagram Stories. One post featured the whole crew sporting pink Western-style cowboy hats, with Brittany captioning it: "Had to hear @ellalangleymusic Choosin Texas in the Star State with my girls."

For the special occasion, she donned a chic white Miu Miu dress paired with brown boots and let her hair flow freely. Her friend and influencer Dani Austin Ramirez also shared a series of photos from the night, captioning it "Chose Texas this weekend," and included a sweet birthday shoutout for Mahomes.

Langley put on an impressive 23-song set filled with crowd favorites like "Choosin' Texas," "Dandelion," and "Broken." The 25-year-old has emerged as a rising star in country music over the past year, recently supporting Morgan Wallen on his Still the Problem Tour before launching her own headlining run.

Who Is Brittany Mahomes?

Before she became widely recognized as Patrick Mahomes' wife, Brittany Mahomes (née Matthews) carved out her own impressive path in soccer. Hailing from Whitehouse, Texas, she shone at the University of Texas at Tyler from 2013 to 2016, where she made her mark as one of the most celebrated players in the program's history.

Throughout her college years, Brittany made quite an impression, racking up 78 total points (the second highest in history), 31 goals (also second), 16 assists (tied for third), and 10 game-winning goals (third) over 74 games. Her remarkable 2016 season stands out as one of the finest in the school's history, where she notched 40 points and 18 goals—both of which set new program records—along with seven game-winning goals and four hat tricks.

After wrapping up her college career, she took her talents overseas, signing with the Icelandic club UMF Afturelding, before shifting gears into the business world as a co-founder of the Kansas City Current. Her contributions to UT Tyler were officially honored when she was inducted into the school's Athletics Hall of Fame as part of the 2026 class.

From High School Sweethearts to NFL's Power Couple

Brittany and Patrick Mahomes first crossed paths in high school in Whitehouse, Texas, and started dating in 2012. Patrick went on to attend Texas Tech from 2014 to 2016 before being selected by the Kansas City Chiefs as the 10th pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. The couple got engaged on September 1, 2020, and tied the knot on March 12, 2022. They are now proud parents to three children—two daughters and a son.

A Growing Business Empire

Brittany has emerged as a key player in the Kansas City Current since joining the ownership group alongside founders Angie and Chris Long. Her husband, Patrick, later joined in as an investor in the club as well. The organization has made history by opening CPKC Stadium, the first-ever venue specifically designed for a professional women's sports team.

Brittany is passionate about creating more opportunities for female athletes and ensuring their accomplishments get the recognition they deserve. Her dedication to women's sports goes beyond just ownership; she also announced that the UT Tyler Patriots women's soccer team will be part of "Team Mahomes," a collaborative NIL initiative with Adidas.

A Unique Evening for the Mahomes Family

While Brittany soaked in the sounds of country music in Texas, Patrick Mahomes was focused on the Chiefs. The quarterback is deep into training camp, gearing up for the 2026 NFL season and working hard on his recovery from a knee injury he sustained back in December 2025. With Brittany's 31st birthday still two weeks away, it seems like her celebrations are just beginning. The family will probably gather for a more festive celebration when her special day finally arrives on August 31.
