Early Years and The Big Breakthrough 

In a creative background, Hailee has a supporting family. Her parents are Cheri and Peter Steinfeld, who encouraged her interests. Additionally, she has a brother named Griffin who is older than her. At a young age of eight, Hailee acted in short movies. She was homeschooling from the age of 11 until high school, which allowed her to pursue her career.


Her breakthrough came when she was merely 14 years old. In 2010, she appeared in the remake of  True Grit, a classic Western film that has been considered a timeless piece of art. It is worth noting that she won her first Oscar nomination, which was for Best Supporting Actress, for playing the character of Mattie Ross. She excelled in The Edge of Seventeen (2016), a teen drama. Her performance, which is honest to a fault, has been commended by critics. In 2018, Hailee provided the voice for the animated hit Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, playing the role of Gwen Stacy. Her acting skills brought the cartoon to life, especially in the exciting combat scenes. Later in the same year, she appeared in Bumblebee, the sweet Transformers spin-off, as Charlie Watson.

On television, she portrayed the poet Emily Dickinson in the series Dickinson, which is an Apple TV+ series. It’s a blend of historical drama with a modern touch, which she portrayed perfectly with the quirky, fearless, and bold persona. Recently, she appeared in Sinners, a horror movie that is directed by Ryan Coogler, with Michael B. Jordan.

Looking ahead, Hailee is teamed with Miles Teller in Winter Games, a sports rom-com released by Paramount. Her career is steadily expanding to include a range of movies, from blockbuster titles to more serious ones.

The Big News: Baby on the Way!

On Friday, Hailee and Josh announced that they are expecting their first child. The couple made the announcement through a sweet Instagram video. In the video, Hailee displayed her baby bump inside a "Mother" shirt, taking a romantic pose with Josh in the snow. They are holding hands as the camera focuses on a small snowman standing between them, a sweet gesture towards their upcoming addition to the family. The video had only a red heart sign.

Hailee also posted on her Substack newsletter, Beau Society. It is a birthday reflection, coinciding with her 29th on December 11, where she gives 29 of her most favorite moments from the past year.



 Being parents is number one! This is such a happy piece of news, especially given how busy she is with her acting career. Sinners  is picking up awards nominations, with  Winter Games to follow.
