Humble Origins and Family History
Born in Tabasco to an influential family, Fátima is the descendant of architect Don José Miguel Bosch López de Llergo. Her parents were engineer Bernardo Bosch Hernández and Vanessa Fernández Balboa. She was raised with the company of an elder brother, Bernardo Bosch Fernández Jr. Beauty runs in the family, for her aunts Mónica and Claudia Fernández were former Flor de Oro pageant queens.Strength in Overcoming Challenges
Diagnosed with dyslexia and ADHD at a tender age, Fátima experienced challenges both academically and socially, including bullying through her school years.
These struggles so galvanized her inner strength and determination to fight for others who suffer as she did that today, as Miss Universe, she is an outspoken crusader for that cause. Her story of struggling against adversity has served as inspiration and encouragement to numerous youth the world over.
Educational Pursuits and Artistic Passion
Fátima's academic trajectory mirrors her passion for creativity and self-expression. She has studied at Colegio Oxford in Mexico City, Instituto Cumbres Villahermosa, Colegio ArjÃ, and Lyndon Institute in Vermont, USA.
She has also studied at the Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti, NABA, Milan, Italy. Finally, she graduated with a bachelor's degree in Fashion and Apparel Design from Universidad Iberoamericana, Mexico City (2021-2024), specializing in sustainable fashion design, using often-discarded materials in her work.
Pageant Journey and Historic Wins
Her first beauty pageant was when she won the Flor de Oro crown, representing Teapa in 2018. She was invited to Miss Universe Mexico in 2019; however, she gave up her participation to focus on studies. In September 2025, she made history for being the first woman from Tabasco to win Miss Universe Mexico 2025 out of 31 contestants.
Miss Universe 2025: Triumph Amid Controversy
Representing Mexico in the 74th Miss Universe in Bangkok, Thailand, Fátima's poise and confidence shone despite a public controversy. During the pre-event on November 4, 2025, she was publicly scolded by Nawat Itsaragrisil, Miss Universe Thailand director, because she received her directions from her national director and not from local organizers. Called a "dumbhead," she was asked to leave the room. In solidarity, several contestants walked out with her, sparking international media coverage and discussions of respect and empowerment.Following a public apology by the organizer of the event, Fátima went back to the stage, emotional but firm. Her participation culminated in her winning the Miss Universe 2025 crown on November 21, 2025. This made her a symbol of strength and dignity.
Advocacy and Personal
Life Beyond the crown, Fátima uses her platform to advocate for neurodivergent individuals, sustainable fashion, environmental awareness, and social causes that help migrants and children with cancer. She actively volunteers in these areas, combining her talents as a designer, poet, photographer, and painter. She is unmarried but was in a relationship with soccer player Kevin Alvarez till 2023. Her favorite hobbies, which further describe her full-of-life and multi-dimensional personality, include painting, tennis, and horseback riding.
